Fellow Essex-ians The Milk are bloody brilliant and so is their song B Roads, the lead single from their B Roads and B Sides EP. Released in December last year, I’m surprised it didn’t do better. This band definitely have some top notch songs so with a bit of luck they’ll have a successful 2012.
Here’s B Roads, which in my opinion is such a strong song that it wouldn’t be out of place on Plan B’s Defamation Of Strickland Banks album. It also samples/uses the same chords as Jurassic 5 – Concrete Schoolyard, and it’s a properly great song. Check it out:
The other song that stood out to me was the more uptempo rock-y numnber Broke Up The Family which, when read very quickly on youtube looks like it reads ‘The milk broke up the family’ which would be an equally entertaining video, but for different reasons. It’s completely different to B Roads, but they pull it off well.
Signed to Sony, we’re looking forward to hearing more from this great band. Here’s Broke Up The Family:
They’re playing in London on at the Scala on 4 April and at Chinnerys in Southend on 2 June, as well as all good towns near you. Check here for more ticket info.
