I fell in love with Sean Bones‘ song Hit Me Up as soon as I heard the first 4 notes. It’s catchy as anything I’ve heard this year, and it makes me want to pull my shorts on and go down to the beach. But not Clacton. Essex doesn’t have many nice beaches. Frinton is alright, I suppose…

Brooklyn-based Sean Bones recently toured with Mates Of State and played SXSW, and he’s got an album, Buzzards Boy, due for release on 8 May.

The album was recorded with Shane Stoneback, who’s recently worked with the likes of  Cults, Sleigh Bells and Vampire Weekend. The first single from the album, Here Now, which can be heard below, was released on a limited number of 7″ records in February.

Sean is due to tour in Spring, both with his backing band and on his own. As soon as we have more details we’ll let you know. For now, just enjoy the music.
