Landores

I first found Landores late last year when they posted a sound clip of some weird noise. It wasn’t a song but I was intriuged enough to ‘like’ them on facebook, and thank sweet baby jesus I did, because they’ve now got some beautiful songs which are really very nice.

Formed in 2011, Landores was created by Joe Zoutewelle, Ryan Gorringe, Jay Gibby and Jon Glenister. I’m not 100% but I think that at least one of the members was in band called Escape To Sea, a great band from Brighton that have now sadly stopped making music.

It’s like folk (but not shit-folk) mixed with a poppier/indier side to it that takes it forward and makes in interesting enough to make me listen to their songs on repeat. Here’s their beautiful song Foreign Grounds:

And here’s Bows:

They’ll hopefully be playing live in June but no dates confirmed yet – stay tuned for more info, and hopefully more tunes from these guys!

New Bands

A special post dedicated just to 6 new bands I think you should be listening to – there won’t be any singer-songwriters/MC’s/DJ’s in this post, just bands. Obviously! This post’s called New Bands, so what did you expect?

Kankouran – Rivers (feat. Evelyn Burke)

Blue Boats – Summers Down

Correction: Blue Boats is actually the solo ‘bedroom project’ of Olly Gale, so in essence it’s a solo project. My bad, but it’s still fucking amazing, so it stays. I make my own rules.

Landores – Foreign Grounds

Father Sculptor – Ember

Harbour – Colder

Me And My Drummer – You’re A Runner
