Clap Clappety Clap.
That’s what this song from EJ sounds like, but in a good clap-y way, not a bad clap-y way.
EJ was born on Sweden but now spends her time in Peckham, and aren’t we glad she’s here!? I know where I’d rather live though…
Her song, Mama I’m Gonna Sing is made up of a ridiculous amount of layered drums, with EJ’s beautiful vocals placed on top. There isn’t any more material out there at the moment, but stay tuned – she’ll probably be using more instruments in the future, and if you can make a song sound this good with just drums (albeit very, very good drums) and vocals then you’re obviously onto a winner.
Here’s Mama I’m Gonna Sing:
It’s released on 11 March, and EJ is playing several London shows in the new few weeks including The Lock Tavern tomorrow night (1 March), Notting Hill Arts Club next Thursday (8 March) and The Camp on Tues 13 March.
