Keep your eye on new London via Bournemouth based band MUST. They recently put up ode to Elvis (maybe), Graceland, and it’s a tune.
They’re yet to play an announced gig in London, but keep your eyes peeled – coming to a venue near you soon (if you live in London).
Having assumed that Blue Boats were a band, I featured ‘them’ on my new bands post. But how wrong I was to assume. Blue Boats is the solo ‘bedroom project’ of Olly Gale, and it’s bloody brilliant. Here’s one of my favourite songs of the summer already, Summers Down:
Olly is actually a film student in Bournemouth, although he’s told me that ‘music will always win over anything’ so hopefully he’ll pursue music over film to keep supplying us with summer pop nuggets. He started the project last summer, with the first tracks finished in the autumn.
Between those tracks and his new ones, uploaded 5 days ago, unfortunately Olly had some ‘vocal damage’ although all seems to be well now, with his voice sounding stronger than before. Here’s the second new track, Sun Burns:

At the moment there’s no plans for any releases and no confirmed live shows although Olly has told me that he’s practising hard for his first shows in June, and is still working on new tracks. Well Olly, we look forward to hearing a lot more. Keep it up mate!
