EJ

Clap Clappety Clap.

That’s what this song from EJ sounds like, but in a good clap-y way, not a bad clap-y way.

EJ was born on Sweden but now spends her time in Peckham, and aren’t we glad she’s here!? I know where I’d rather live though…

Her song, Mama I’m Gonna Sing is made up of a ridiculous amount of layered drums, with EJ’s beautiful vocals placed on top. There isn’t any more material out there at the moment, but stay tuned – she’ll probably be using more instruments in the future, and if you can make a song sound this good with just drums (albeit very, very good drums) and vocals then you’re obviously onto a winner.

Here’s Mama I’m Gonna Sing:

It’s released on 11 March, and EJ is playing several London shows in the new few weeks including The Lock Tavern tomorrow night (1 March), Notting Hill Arts Club next Thursday (8 March) and The Camp on Tues 13 March.

Great Cynics

Our friends Great Cynics have a new video. After having some success with their debut album Don’t Need Much, they’ve gone back into the studio with Peter Miles (King Blues, Canterbury, The Apostates) to record a new EP called In The Valley which includes this new song, of the same name.

Check it out, and buy theEP, which is being put out through Kind Of Like Records. Here’s the song In The Valley:

PS this isn’t the official videos, which features tattoo-ing quite prominently. As soon as it’s available we’ll post it up here!

Plan B – Ill Manors

I first heard Ill Manors back in November (I didn’t know what it was called back then, but I knew it was a massive tune) when I was at Atlantic and was completely blown away listening to it for the first time.

No introduction needed for Plan B, I’m super excited for this song to be released as well as his movie of the same name.

Plan B is well and truly back. See for yourself, for me it’s an early contender for one of the songs of 2012. Sit back and enjoy!
